DEA Fugitive, Mexican ‘Federal’ Killed In Juarez
Deadly violence continues to spill blood in the streets of Juarez.
XHIJ Channel 44 in Juarez is reporting Juan Macias Leyva was gunned down at about 2:30 a.m. Friday. Leyva’s family confirmed to XHIJ that he was wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Leyva and another man said to be his cousin were gunned down inside a Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck.
An officer with Mexico’s Federal Police was also shot and killed Friday. He was identified by Chihuahua State Police officials as 36-year-old Vicente Carmona Alvarez. He was gunned down at a Juarez hotel near the Stanton Street Port of Entry.
State police officials said two other police officers were shot at the hotel along with Alvarez. They managed to survive.
