Small Earthquake Hits South Texas Saturday Night

A small earthquake hit south Texas Saturday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

According to the USGS, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit an area near Alice, 50 miles west of Corpus Christi.

No damage or injuries were reported, but numerous residents felt the quake, and apparently flooded the police and sheriff’s department there with calls.

The last reported earthquake in Texas was a 3.8 magnitude quake in Jim Wells County in March of 1997.
