Curious Animal Causes Overnight Power Outage
A curious animal caused a power outage that affected thousands of El Pasoans early Sunday morning.
The outage encompassed the Artcraft area, all the way to the Upper Valley, and even reached Canutillo, according to El Paso Electric. For a little more than an hour, street lights and home electricity were out.
Crews restored power by about 4 a.m. Sunday morning. El Paso Electric said a cat got into a transformer, causing the lines to shut down. Unfortunately, the cat died as a result of entering the transformer.
