Woman Suspected Of Bribing Sheriff’s Deputy

A woman was suspected of bribing an El Paso County Sheriff’s deputy. Authorities said she also pushed him and ran away.

Investigators said it was part of an effort to get her boyfriend out of trouble.

According to officials, 28-year-old Ana Cristina Muhammad offered a deputy $20 to let her boyfriend go.

When she tried to grab her boyfriend and pull him away from deputies, they tried to arrest her. That’s when she allegedly shoved the deputy and ran away.

Officials identified Muhammad’s boyfriend as 34-year-old Justo Andrade.

Deputies arrested him last Sunday after he and Muhammad tried to go into a business on Zaragoza that had just closed for the night.

He was arrested after deputies reportedly found out he had two outstanding criminal warrants.

Muhammad was arrested two days later and charged with Bribery and Evading Arrest among other offenses.
