Former EP County Medical Examiner’s Testimony Used In Murder Case

Dr. Paul Shrode, the former El Paso County Medical Examiner, testified in the murder trial of 28-year-old Michael James “Romeo” Perry, who was convicted of murdering a Conroe nurse in 2001.

Perry is seeking a 180-day reprieve from his July 1 execution based on “newly discovered evidence” regarding Shrode, who was fired as El Paso County’s medical examiner in May.
