Las Cruces Giving Away Free Compost

Starting Sept. 1, compost from Yard Waste Recycling will be available free of charge from the City of Las Cruces. The compost will be available at the Foothills Landfill, 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd. just south of Lohman Avenue .

The landfill has unscreened compost that residents can pick up to be loaded onto trucks, trailers and larger vehicles. The compost is made from yard waste material such as tree branches, grass cuttings, plants and leaves which is composted over time.
