Lower Valley Man Charged With Endangering Child, DWI

A Lower Valley man was charged with DWI and abandoning or endangering a child early Tuesday morning after a family fight.

El Paso Police said that Tony Yslas, 25, of the 9000 block of Betel, was involved in an argument when he grabbed his 8-month-old child from the child’s mother, got in a car and fled the area.

At about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police officers said they saw Yslas driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed in the 8700 block of North Loop.

Yslas was stopped and showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DWI, according to police officials.

Unrestrained in the front passenger seat was the 8-month-old child. The child was crying and physically appeared unharmed. Yslas was booked into the El Paso County Jail on abandon or endangering a child and Driving While Intoxicated. His bonds were set at $6,000. The child was turned over to the mother.
