Young Professionals Learn How To Help Juarez At Meeting
The owners of local bar Hope and Anchor took it upon themselves to try and help answer how El Pasoans can help Juarez.
In order to inform and develop the up-and-coming generation of local non-profit donors, Hope and Anchor owners hosted an info session on behalf of the Friends of FEMAP International group on Wednesday.
?It?s our time to give back to our ‘sister city’ community and informing our generation of El Pasoans about local non-profits such as the FEMAP Foundation is our way of starting that dialogue,? said bar owner and FEMAP supporter, Jim Ward.
About Friends of FEMAP International The Friends of FEMAP International volunteer group was started in the 1990s. The original group helped raise funds to expand and buy medical equipment for Hospital de la Familia. Today?s Friends hold various functions within the organization, from coordinating the fundraiser gala, to assisting with administrative projects, event planning and publicity.
This year’s fundraiser will be held Friday, September 24, 2010. The proceeds from the fundraiser gala help support FEMAP?s continued efforts to bring healthcare services, educational programs and economic empowerment to our bi-national region.
Tickets for the September 24, 2010 gala will be available at the info session. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.femap.org or by phone, please contact Anna Aleman at 915.544.4151 or aaleman@femap.org.
