Extension Cord Causes East Side House Fire
An El Paso family got a terrible surprise Monday night. They showed up to find their house on fire.
It happened on the 11800 block of Snowhawk in far East El Paso. Investigators blame an overheated extension cord in the garage that had two appliances plugged into it.
The home received about $100,000 worth of damages and the family will need a place to stay for awhile. Building officials ruled the house unlivable because of heavy structure damage.
