Alamogordo High School Homecoming Changed Following Shooting
It’s not the homecoming students at Alamogordo High School had in mind, but they’ll have to deal with it.
Recent security concerns following a shooting involving two teenage Alamogordo Public Schools students have forced district officials to postpone this Friday’s homecoming festivities.
The only thing still on schedule will be the football game against Hobbs High School. As an added security measure, the game time has been changed to a 4:30 p.m. start time. All other festivities including a parade and the homecoming dance have been moved to the week of Oct. 18-22 when Alamogordo plays Onate.
Junior Bryon Williams said ” I don’t think it’s right, and I don’t think it’s fair.”
Williams was upset the actions of two teens were affecting the entire student body.
The students allegedly involved in the shooting that sparked the security concerns are still on the loose. Alamogordo DPS investigators have identified them as 17-year-old Abraham Otero Aragon, and 15-year-old Anthony Aragon.
