Protective Order Against EPISD Superintendent Dropped
A protective order filed against El Paso Independent School District Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia has been dropped.
ABC-7 reported two weeks ago a judge issued a temporary protective order after his wife, Tamara Garcia, claimed the superintendent shoved her. The couple is going through a divorce.
Under the judge’s order he was not allowed to come close to his family.
The superintendent vehemently denied the allegation of domestic abuse. On September 20th, he told ABC-7, “This is a temporary thing that will get resolved in the near future.”
ABC-7 learned the protective order was dropped Thursday at Tamara Garcia’s request. Neither parties showed up to a hearing Friday afternoon to discuss the matter.
In a statement EPISD officials said, “The matter has been resolved amicably. Dr. Lorenzo Garcia and Tamara Garcia feel this is a private matter and request privacy. Their main focus is on appropriately raising their children.”
