Update: Man Crushed While Working on Car
An East El Paso man is killed after the vehicle he was working on crushed him Saturday Night.
According to fire department officials, crews were sent to the 10600 block of Vista Alegre around 7:30 Saturday night, in response to an injury call. When crews arrived they found a man in his 60’s pinned under a vehicle.
Fire officials said Thomas Knudson, 59, had raised the vehicle with a single jack. They said he did not use any other safety equipment.
Knudson’s family told ABC-7 he was a 23-year veteran of the Air Force.
Fire officials said Knudson suffered ‘massive trauma,’ and was pronounced dead on the scene. Officials said he was found by his wife.
An investigation as to the exact cause of the accident is now underway.
