Police: Boy Stabs Mother’s Boyfriend In Buttocks

Police said a 15-year-old boy from Las Cruces was arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother’s boyfriend in the buttocks last Sunday.

Martin Escobedo, who is being detained at the Dona Ana County Detention Center, has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon as well as tampering with evidence.

Las Cruces police said they were called to a home in the 300 block of Foster Road after an argument had escalated into a fight between Escobedo and his mother’s 39-year-old boyfriend.

An investigation revealed Escobedo stabbed the man once in the buttocks with a folding knife and then left the home and disposed of the weapon.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
