Onate High School Names New Football Coach

Caleb Hull was named head football coach at Onate High School on Thursday.

Hull, 32, had been an assistant coach at Las Cruces High for the last four years. He played college at New Mexico State University under Tony Samuel. He replaces Kelly McKee, who stepped down after 14 years at Onate.

Onate was 2-8 last season and last won the state championship in 2002.

Hull promises an explosive attack by his offense that will resemble much of what he had done under Jim Miller at Las Cruces High. Onate will open the 2011 season against El Paso Franklin High School.
