Manhunt Monday 01/17/11: Diego Cuellar

This week’s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is a Sureno Gang Member wanted for a violent 2010 assault in Westway, TX. The target is identified as DIEGO CUELLAR (25) of El Paso, TX.

MAY 2010: On 05-27-10 at approximately 8:00 pm, Deputies were called to the area of the 8300 block of Tom Mays in reference to a stabbing that just occurred. According to the 19 year-old male victim, he was stabbed with a large butcher knife repeatedly by 3 to 4 ?cholo-type? males following an earlier verbal altercation with the group. The victim sustained serious stab wounds to his upper back & right side of his head (one near the temple region of his skull). The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.

Following leads provided by patrol Deputies, CID Detectives have been able to identify one of the assailants as DIEGO CUELLAR. It was believed CUELLAR remained in the Borderland hiding with relatives and friends. CUELLAR disappeared after being profiled on MANHUNT MONDAY (June 2010). He is wanted for AGGRAVATED ASSAULT W/ DEADLY WEAPON & an unrelated DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED charge.

CUELLAR has several relatives in Westway, Canutillo, & El Paso, TX. In 2004, he was sentenced to Texas Department of Corrections for another crime.

NEW INFORMATION: Information recently received indicates CUELLAR has resurfaced & has been spotted frequenting the Upper Valley area as he continues eluding capture.
