Update: Early Morning Lower Valley Crash Critically Injures 1
A man was in critical condition Saturday night after he was involved in a crash on the 7800 block of San Jose Road just after 4 a.m.
El Paso police said Cesar Mendez, 22, was speeding down North Loop Drive when he turned on San Jose Road, hit a curb and spun out of control. Mendez then hit an old bus that was parked nearby.
Investigators said Mendez was not wearing a seat belt.
Authorities said there was a 43-year-old homeless man sleeping inside that bus. He suffered minor injuries.
