Police ID Man Shot, Killed Outside El Paso Club; Man Charged With Murder

El Paso Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in the parking lot outside of an East Side bar early Monday morning.

Alex Gabriel Jaime, 23, of Fort Bliss was found dead in the parking lot of the Three Legged Monkey at 1550 Hawkins at about 1 a.m. Monday.

El Paso Police Crimes Against Persons (CAP) said they learned that an altercation broke out inside the night club and continued outside.

The altercation escalated to the point that Zareef Quasim Saleel, 25, also of Fort Bliss, produced a firearm and shot Jaime one time in the chest, according to police. CAP detectives have arrested and filed murder charges against Saleel.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Police kept an estimated 400 bar patrons inside the establishment for hours for questioning to see if any of them witnessed what happened.
