New Hampshire courts hear 2 cases on transgender girls playing girls sports

(AP) — Two New Hampshire fathers who were punished for wearing pink wristbands marked “XX” to represent female chromosomes at a high school soccer game say they didn’t set out to harass or otherwise target a transgender athlete. But a judge hearing their case in federal court Thursday says the message they sent may matter more than their intentions. Hearings were held Thursday in two federal lawsuits about transgender athletes in New Hampshire. The first hearing was about two transgender girls challenging a new state law banning them from girls’ sports teams. The other was about a school district’s decision to sanction parents for wearing pink wristbands with “XX” on them, the symbol representing the female chromosome pair.
