El Paso Man Charged In Apartment Fire
El Paso Fire Dept. Fire Marshals have charged 29-year-old Orlando Robles in connection with an early morning fire which occurred Feb. 26, 2011 at the Alto Sol Apartments, 4515 Sunrise, in Northeast El Paso.
Robles had been arrested and charged by the El Paso Police Dept. for a separate offense earlier that morning. Investigators with the El Paso Fire Dept. found enough evidence at the scene of the fire to charge Robles with arson in the firstdegree.
No injuries were reported at this incident but nine people were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross has made accommodations for those who have requested assistance as a result of this fire.
Due to the rapid fire confinement and extinguishment, damage was kept mainly to the apartment unit of origin and that needed for roof ventilation. Dollar loss is estimated at $50,000.
