Police: Bar Fight Leads To Alleged Assault On Officer
El Paso police arrested two men after a fight at the Cincinnati Bar Saturday evening.
Officers were called to the Cincinnati Bar shortly after 11 p.m. after a fight was reported.
Police learned the 33-year-old Raul Perez Jr. and 37-year-old Raul Perez, no relation, were being escorted from the bar by employee Ricardo Gomez when Perez Jr. punched Gomez several times in the face.
The other man, Perez, also began hitting Gomez when other employees came to Gomez’s aid. The bar employees were able to restrain Perez and Perez Jr. until police arrived.
Police said Perez resisted arrest while being handcuffed and kicked one of the officers repeatedly in the shin. Authorities said Perez also kicked one of the other officers in the stomach while he was being placed in the squad car. A police supervisor then used a Taser to subdue Perez.
Perez complied with the officers after being Tasered.
Perez was later booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and charged with assault on a public servant and resisting arrest, as well as other charges. His bond was set at $5,000
