El Paso Man Murdered Last Month Suffered Several, Neck, Chest Injuries

The 33-year-old man who was found dead near a ditch last month died of bleeding to death after being being hit several times to the neck and chest, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Juan Jose Esquivel, of the 9800 block of Isaac in El Paso, bled to death “due to multiple sharp force injuries,” according to the medical examiner’s office. It was not immediately clear if he was stabbed or beaten.

At about 6:40 a.m. Feb. 17, Esquivel was found dead near an irrigation ditch near the 350 block of N. Nevarez.

Police have ruled the death a homicide.
