Manhunt Monday 03/07/11: Modesto Melendez Jr.

This week?s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is an individual sought for a sex crime that occurred several years ago. The target is identified as MODESTO MELENDEZ JR. (57) of El Paso, TX.

2004/2005 In October 2010, Sheriff?s Officials received an outcry from a 14 year-old girl through her mother that about 5 years ago (2004/2005) she was improperly touched sexually by her mothers then live-in boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend). The young girl who was 8 or 9 at the time has waited for several years until coming forward to tell her story.

Charges have since been recently filed & Sheriff?s Investigators need your help in finding MODESTO MELENDEZ JR. who is now wanted on 3 COUNTS of INDECENCY W/ A CHILD.

MELENDEZ JR. has an extensive criminal history. He has previous arrests for POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA W/ INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, AGGRAVATED ROBBERY, THEFT BY CHECK, & RESISTING ARREST. MELENDEZ JR. may still be in El Paso, Texas where he has family in San Elizario & is said to have worked in radiology.
