4 Arrested For Allegedly Buying, Furnishing Alcohol To Minors

Over the weekend, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Strike Team continued operations seeking to locate those who sell, furnish, or provide alcohol to minors & check to see whose in compliance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Codes. Deputies used volunteer minors, 17 years of age, to attempt to purchase alcohol at locations licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.

Deputies checked a total 16 establishments in Montana Vista, Socorro, Anthony, Vinton, Canutillo and West El Paso. Of the 16 establishments checked, four were allegedly found not to be in compliance – as the 17 year-old volunteer was sold alcohol at those locations. Deputies arrested the clerks responsible for furnishing the alcohol to the minor.

Similar operation will continue, however dates and times will not be disclosed.

Arrested were:

KARLA GUTIERREZ, 33, PURCHASE / FURNISH ALCOHOL TO A MINOR? $1,500 BOND.

ABUNDIO SALDIVAR, 40, PURCHASE / FURNISH ALCOHOL TO A MINOR? $300 BOND

ALEJANDRO MONTIEL, 22, PURCHASE / FURNISH ALCOHOL TO A MINOR? $300 BOND

CRISTAL MENDOZA, 19, PURCHASE / FURNISH ALCOHOL TO A MINOR? $300 BOND
