El Paso’s Top Stolen Vehicles List Released

The El Paso Police Department has released a list of the top five most stolen vehicles so far for the year. With several ties, there are actually eight vehicles on the list.

Here’s the list, with the number of reported thefts: 1) Chevrolet Silverado, 32 1) Ford F-150, 32 2) Honda Accord, 28 2) Honda Civic, 28 3) Nissan Armada, 20 4) Acura Integra, 15 4) GMC Sierra pickup, 15 5) Ford Ranger, 13

El Paso police state in a news release that the number of auto thefts is actually down so far in 2011 compared to this same time in 2010. Officials recorded a drop of 21 percent, with 535 reports this year compared to 681 last year.

Police advise everyone to hide any belongings that are left in their cars, lock their cars and take their keys.
