Police: Man Arrested With More Than 10 Pounds of Cocaine

EL PASO, Texas — An El Paso man probably wishes he’d stayed off the road Wednesday. Hector Marquez was arrested, after police pulled him over and allegedly found more than 10 pounds of cocaine in his car.

Marquez was driving north on Americas at Socorro Road around 2:30pm when he was stopped for not having his registration displayed. Further investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant and four wrapped bundles of cocaine.

The total weight of the cocaine came to 10.15 pounds, or 4,603.85 grams.

Marquez was placed under arrest for the warrant and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – cocaine, over 400 grams.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $125,000.00.
