Wanted Felon Puts Up A Fight During Arrest

ate Thursday night 06-09-11 at 7:00 PM, Sheriff?s Deputies were called to the area of 600 NE G in Fabens, TX as a Sheriff?s Deputy was heard over the radio requesting assistance.

Assisting Sheriff?s Patrol Units along with USBP Agents responded to the area. As Authorities arrived seconds later, they located the Sheriff?s Deputy who had a male subject in custody.

Information received indicates the Sheriff?s Deputy was patrolling the same area when he spotted a male subject wanted on outstanding felony warrants walking east on NE G St. The Deputy made contact with the male subject & after confirming that the warrants were still active, the Deputy advised the subject he was being placed under arrest for AGGRAVATED ROBBERY & UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.

The subject immediately became uncooperative & began resisting arrest not willing to comply with the Deputies verbal commands. A citizen who witnessed the struggle, quickly assisted the Deputy & helped him gain control of the subject. The subject was successfully taken into custody without further incident.

The subject was identified as JOSE LECHUGA (19) OF THE 100 block of NW Eubanks Fabens, TX. He was arrested on the outstanding felony warrants & was also booked on additional charges of RESISTING ARREST & CRIMINAL MISHCHIEF for damaging the patrol unit after the arrest.
