Triple-digit Temps Continue Across Borderland

The triple-digit temperatures are expected to continue in El Paso for several days. The city is reminding residents how to stay cool.

El Paso’s Extreme Weather Taskforce recommends:

Dress for the heat, wear lightweight clothing Drink water, and carry bottled water at all times Check on the elderly, friends, neighbors and children Avoid strenuous activity during the day

For those residents who do not have air conditioning in their home, city and county buildings such as , city hall, county court house, police departments and fire stations are designated cooling centers. Residents are encouraged to visit one of 13 El Paso Public Library locations to have a cool drink and relax by reading a magazine and newspaper. The following locations are also cooling centers across the Borderland:

Hilos de Plata 4451 Delta

East Side Center 3200 Fierro St.

Carolina Center 563 N Carolina
