I-10 Reopened After Violent Wreck Kills Mother, Daughter, FedEx Driver

A woman and her 4-year-old child were killed along with the driver of a FedEx trailer in an early-morning wreck on the westbound lanes of I-10.

The westbound lanes of the interstate were closed at mile marker 117, which is just past the Border Patrol checkpoint west of Las Cruces Wednesday morning.

A toddler was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center in El Paso. His grandparents rushed to the hospital to be with him, and tell ABC-7 they are devastated.

It is unknown how the wreck happened, but investigators tell the ABC-7 New Mexico Mobile Newsroom it appears the FedEx semi-truck rear-ended the pickup truck.
