Suspect In Las Cruces Bank Robbery Arrested

Police investigators and FBI agents working on a tip to Las Cruces Crime Stoppers arrested a man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo bank shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday at 2400 Main.

Authorities said 52-year-old Gregory S. Miller, 52, walked into the bank, displayed a note that demanded money and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen heading south on Main Street.

Authorities said someone called Crime Stoppers after seeing a report of the robbery on television Wednesday evening, saying they recognized the suspect photographed by one of the bank’s surveillance cameras as possibly being Miller.

According to a news release, investigators contacted Miller and questioned him about the robbery on Thursday morning. Investigators were able to gather enough evidence to make an arrest.

Miller, who lists an address in Organ, N.M., was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
