First Alert: National Weather Service Issues Tornado Warning For Deming Area
The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a tornado warning for central Luna County in southwest New Mexico and residents are urged to take cover now. The tornado warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
The was issued at 4:51 p.m. after National Weather Service meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.
The locations tha could be affected include: ? Deming ? Sunshine ? Akela ? Spring Canyon State Park ? Rock Hound State Park
Residents are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. If you are in a mobile home, a vehicle or are outdoors, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
