Police: Small Plane Crash Near Socorro, NM, kills 1

State police said a small plane crashed in Socorro on Monday afternoon, killing at least one person.

Sgt. Tim Johnson said the plane crashed at about 1:18 p.m. near the south Socorro exit on Interstate 25. Police say at least one person has died. But because of the severity of the crash, officers say it is unclear how many people were on the plane or what type of plane it was.
