City Postpones Action On Proposed Transmountain Rezoning

The El Paso City Council on Monday postponed for 90 days action on the proposed rezoning of Transmountain.

Petitioners wanted to rezone 800 acres surrounding the proposed freeway to natural open space to halt development

The Public Service Board, which maintains that some of land needs to be developed, opposes the rezoning but would not discuss the issue.

During the 90 days, the public will get a chance to weigh in on the issue at several meetings.
