NWS: Severe Thunderstorms Expected In Hudspeth County

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Hudspeth County until 5 p.m. in southwest Texas.

NWS meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging downburst and winds of up to 60 mph about 4:08 p.m. The storm was located 13 miles west of Van Horn and seen moving east at 5 mph.

The locations expected to be impacted are Allamoore and portions of the I-10 corridor between Sierra Blanca and Van Horn.

Blowing dust will likely accompany this storm, reducing visibility to dangerous levels on area roadways. Residents are urged to drive carefully.
