ABC-7 Forecast for Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog who makes his annual weather prediction on February 2nd, proclaims that winter will continue for the next 6 weeks. Tell that to the South and Southwest!

A Red Flag Warning will take effect at noon today. This means that high winds and low humidities will create a fire danger, so outdoor burning is not recommended.

A cold front will also pass by, dropping temperatures later tonight and the rest of the week and weekend. The high today will make it up to 68 degrees, but the weather headline will be the winds, peaking at 40 mph.

Temperatures will stay in the 50s for the upcoming weekend.
