Early Morning Rollover Wreck Kills One Near Las Cruces

New Mexico State Police tell ABC-7 that a retired Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Sergeant was killed Tuesday morning after a rollover just west of Las Cruces.

The wreck happened shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, on I-10, about 25 miles west of Las Cruces. According to New Mexico State Police, a Ford F350 was westbound on I-10 when for some reason the truck left the roadway.

NMSP Officials say 57-year-old Jay Reeves was injured in the wreck and rushed to Memorial Medical Center. He died there a short time later.

Investigators says Reeves’ truck rolled at least once. Officials are still trying to determine why the truck left the roadway.
