First Alert: Storm Expected To Bring Rain Tonight, Friday

ABC-7 has issued a StormTrack Weather First Alert for tonight and Friday.

The alert has been issued because of a storm coming in from California that will scoop up decent moisture and send it in El Paso’s direction late tonight and tomorrow.

The Borderland could see as much as half an inch to 1 inch of rain in the area by Friday night. This rain will cause some travel problems and slick roads.

Last time the El Paso area saw a decent amount of rain was Jan. 8 when we had .59 of an inch of rain.

Small hail and wind gusts of 50 mph also are possible.

The Sacramento Mountains and Black Range of the lower Gila could see heavy snow due to this storm. Seven to 12 inches of snow could accumulate in these mountain ranges by Friday night.
