El Paso Firefighters Respond To House Fire

A home went up in flames just after 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

George de la Torre, a public information officer with the El Paso Fire Department, tells ABC-7 that the fire occured on the 6100 block of Valley Drive in El Paso’s Upper Valley.

Homeowners told fire crews that the cause of the fire was electrical. A loud pop was heard near the porch area where there is recessed lighting, then a fire began.

Four people were inside the home when the fire began. All four people managed to get out of the home without injuries, however, five puppies were stuck in the blaze. Four of those puppies have been accounted for since firefighters started searching, a fifth is still missing.
