Ex-Dance Teacher Alferez Orderd To Pay Restitution To Child Porn Victims

A restitution hearing was held Tuesday afternoon in federal court this afternoon for victims of former dance instructor Marco Alferez.

The hearing, held in Judge Kathleen Cardone’s courtroom, involved three victims of Alferez. He was brought into the courtroom wearing a navy blue jumpsuit with his hands and feet shackled.

The first victim, referred by prosecutors simply as Vicky, was 10 years old when Alferez videotaped her.

Vicky is now in her 20s. Prosecutors claimed she continues to suffer mentally because she knows videotapes of her shot by Alferez are still out in public. She was awarded $15,000 by the court.

The second victim, known as MR, was awarded $200 dollars for medical counseling. The third victim, referred to as SG by prosecutors, was awarded $1,140 dollars for lost wages for their parents.

Alferez’s defense attorney objected to the awards stating an appeal was filed before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and had yet to be decided.
