Fort Bliss Military Exercises May Cause Traffic Problems On Local Roads
The 1st Armored Division is planning their biggest exercise since arriving at Fort Bliss for their Operation Iron Focus and Network Integration Exercise.
According to Fort Bliss officials, this means that increased traffic of military vehicles will be traveling in and out of the training ranges at McGregor and Dona Ana Ranges, as well as the White Sands Missile Range from April 16 to May 24.
This increased traffic could mean delays along Highway 54 and at entry gates into Fort Bliss.
The heaviest traffic will be arriving after April 23 on Mondays and Fridays until the end of the exercises.
The following list outlines the degree of traffic congestion and dates expect:
April 16-20: Moderate April 23: Heavy April 27: Heavy April 30: Heavy May 4: Heavy May 7: Heavy May 11: Heavy May 14: Heavy May 18: Heavy May 24: Heavy June 3: Moderate Fort Bliss officials also wanted to remind motorists to use extreme caution when driving near military vehicles.
