19-year-old dead in Northwest El Paso crash

Update (March 24, 2025): El Paso Police say the person who died was a 19-year-old man. They are still working to identify him.

Update: A spokesperson with the El Paso Fire Department confirmed one person died as a result of the crash.

EPFD said they received a call at 1:32 a.m. Saturday.

The spokesperson said a vehicle crashed into an electric pole, caught fire and became fully engulfed.

The power lines also caught fire and El Paso Electric was called out to the scene.

Fire crews quickly knocked down the fire.

Fire investigators and El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigators were called out to the scene.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A vehicle crashed into power lines and caught fire in Northwest El Paso early Saturday morning, according to El Paso Police Department.

It happened near the intersection of Enchanted Springs Dr and Northwestern Dr in Northwest El Paso.

Special Traffic Investigators are on scene looking into the details of the crash.

Police have not yet said how many people were injured.
