A spokesperson with Customs and Border Protection confirmed to ABC-7 that an American teenager was shot in Juarez.

The 16-year-old was taken through the Bridge of the Americas to University Medical Center in El Paso Monday.

KVIA’s news partners in Juarez, Channel 44, report the teen was wounded during a shooting Sunday afternoon in the Colonia Galeana. A 12-year-old, Antonio Aarn Serrano Gonzlez, was killed and two 16-year-olds were wounded. Investigators recovered three shell casings from an AK-47.

Relatives told a Channel 44 crew at the scene of the shooting that one of the 16-year-olds would be transferred to El Paso.
