Man Allegedly Breaks Into Ex-Wife’s Home To Demand She Drop Family Violence Charges, El Paso Police Say

A 40-year-old El Paso man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s Lower Valley home to demand she drop previous charges of family violence assault, according to El Paso police officials.

Felipe De Jesus Gomez, of the 12000 block of Ranaldi, entered his ex-wife’s home by breaking a window and allegedly struck his ex-wife and another person inside the home with a handgun, according to police.

Police officials stated in a news release that Gomez also displayed a stun gun and was in possession of plastic zip ties, and a propane torch canister, which he allegedly said he would use to burn and disfigure his ex-wife.

Gomez also demanded that his ex-wife drop charges on a previous family violence assault.

Gomez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on one count of Aggravated Assault, Burglary of Habitation, Violation of a Protective Order, Interference with Emergency Communication, Obstruction or Retaliation, Aggravated Assault – Family Violence, and two counts of Unlawful Restraint. Gomez was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $1,120,000.
