Quintanilla, Perez Headed To Run-off In County Commissioner Precinct 3 Race

Chente Quintanilla and Vincent Perez are headed to a run-off in the race for the El Paso County Commissioners Precinct 3 which was vacated by Willie Gandara Jr. with 191 of 191 precincts reporting. Rodolfo ?Rudy? Loya, and Dora Oaxaca also were vying for the seat.

Quintanilla has 3,504 (37 percent), Perez has 2,571 (27.09 percent), Oaxaca has 2,122 (22.35 percent), and Loya has 1,296 votes (13.6 percent).

Gandara Jr. resigned his seat earlier this year after being charged with federal drug charges.

Tonia Chozet was appointed by El Paso County Judge Veronica Escobar to fill the seat on a temporary basis pending the election.
