El Paso police release mugshots of accused stabber and deadly shooter

El Paso police on Monday publicly released mugshots of two men recently arrested, one for a stabbing attack that resulted in serious injuries and the other for a deadly shooting at a bar.

Ramon De La Luz, 22, is being held on $100,000 bond on a charge of attempted murder in the stabbing and wounding of Alan Guillermo Torres last week at Oregon Street and Third Avenue near downtown.

Elijah Jaden Covington, 20, is being held on $1 million bond on a charge of murder in the shooting death of Jamaal Deontre Jones-Aguilar. It happened on Sept. 1 outside the Gourmet Hot Dogs bar in east El Paso.

Aside from the mugshots, no new details were released on either case.
