Resler Drive to close for months
Crews are closing down a stretch of Resler Drive at 9 a.m. Thursday and don’t plan to reopen it until October.
The closure is so crews can construct a new intersection at Transmountain/Loop 375 in conjunction with the major project to widen the loop, add access roads and create on- and off-ramps.
“That will be a completely new intersection,” Blanca Del Valle, the spokeswoman for TxDOT, told ABC-7. “I think the entrance will be much safer.”
A 1.7 mile stretch of Resler from Transmountain to Paseo Del Norte Drive will be closed. Those who work in the area can still access their place of business during the closure. But drivers who consider Resler a shortcut will have to use Northwestern Drive or South Desert Boulevard to access Resler from Transmountain.
Del Valle said the intersection will also be reconstructed during the three-month closure.
