EPPD: Man turns gun on police

Police arrested 31- year-old David Holguin after allegedly threatening a man with a gun inside of a car and then pointing the weapon at police.

Police said they were patrolling the parking lot of a Circle-K on the far east side, when they spotted two men in a car and the passenger, allegedly pointing a gun at the driver.

Police said officers stopped the car, then drew their pistols calling for Holguin to drop his weapon. According to police, Holguin refused to drop the gun and instead, pointed the weapon at the officers.

The standoff eventually ended, police said, when Holguin rolled down the window and dropped the pistol outside.

Holguin’s charged with multiple counts of assault and possession of a controlled substance.
