Police investigate second hit-and-run of the weekend

Police found a 67-year-old man in the middle of a Lower Valley road Sunday morning.

This marks the second possible hit-and-run collision this weekend.

The accident occurred on the 600 block of Zaragoza, just south of the intersection of Zaragoza and North Loop.

According to officials, the collision happened just after 5 a.m.

Police said no car was found near the man, indicating it may have been another hit-and-run.

The man’s personal items, including a hat and dress shoes, were strewn within 25 yards of where officers believe the initial impact occurred, according to an ABC-7 photographer who was on the scene.

Officials have not identified the man, but they said it appears he was attempting to cross the street at a crosswalk when he was struck.

The man was taken to Del Sol Medical Center in critical condition.
