Bomb Squad finds item on Schuster to be ‘non-hazardous’

Update (4:00 PM): El Paso Police officials say the Bomb Squad found the item to be "non-hazardous." The area is back open to the public now.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Police Department Bomb Squad is investigating a suspicious item on the 600 block of Schuster Avenue. That is located between UTEP and El Paso High School.

Police officials say officers have blocked of the surrounding area as the investigation continues.

ABC-7 has a crew going out to the scene.
