Fabens High School brings school spirit to kick off first week of school

ABC-7 joined Fabens High School as the Fabens Independent School District returned to school this week.

Roxana Amador is the first female principal of Fabens High School, and it's also her first year as a principal.

Her vision for the school is all about attendance, student engagement and success.

She spoke about the importance of being present, engaged, and ready to succeed.

ABC-7 also spoke with Superintendent Dr. Rogelio Segovia who talks about attendance being crucial for learning after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jada Reyes is a sophomore student athlete who shared the benefits of being involved in school and student activities, saying it's helped her branch out her horizons and come out of her shell.

Senior football player Javier Hernandez also said he's excited for the new football season and advises new students to "be strong."
