ABC-7 Weather – Heavy rain pounds parts of El Paso Tuesday night.

Showers and storms slammed parts of El Paso - primarily the West Side of town and around UTEP. That's why ABC-7 issued a First Alert for Tuesday. Rainfall amounts ranged from 0.75" to 1.7". Several areas on the west side and along Mesa reported street flooding. There was some small hail reported - generally pea size - not damaging.

The storms intensified due to wind gusts colliding - one coming from the northwest, the other from the southeast. Flood warnings were issued due to the intense rainfall and flooding that developed.
